Spot trading is long only. Fees are applied on every buy and on the final sell. For education and risk planning only. Not financial advice or a buy or sell signal.

How the average price is calculated

Your average entry price is your total cost divided by the total coins you hold. Buying more at a lower price pulls the average down, buying more at a higher price pulls it up. Fees are included, so the break-even price is slightly higher than the average.

Coins per buy = Amount spent / (Price x (1 + fee))
Average entry = Total spent / Total coins
Break-even sell price = Average entry / (1 – fee)

What is DCA?

Dollar-cost averaging means buying in several smaller steps instead of one lump sum. It smooths out your entry price, but it does not remove the risk of the asset falling.

Averaging down needs a limit

Every extra buy increases your exposure. Decide your maximum total loss before the first buy, not after the price has already dropped. Use the position size calculator to set that limit.

Why the break-even moves

Fees on each buy and on the sell add to your cost. The more buys you make, the more fees you pay, so the price you need to sell at to break even creeps up.
